Who are Hawthorn Electric's? We are an independant electrical retailer as well as an electrical contractor, we have a reputation locally for delivering a quality service over many years of sucessful trading. We are based in Westbourne near Emsworth on the south coast of England. Our company registration number is 3366316 and our Vat registration number is 699 1481 79. How do I order? Ordering is simple you basically select products, click buy to add them to your basket, click checkout when you have selected all the products you require, choose a delivery option and make your payment.
What happens if the goods I order are out of stock? If your order cannot be fulfilled we will contact you straight away. We don't send out substitute goods.
How can I pay for my purchases? You can pay using the secure payment system on our website, or you can pay by card over the telephone (Call 01243 372374), personal cheque or even in cash if collecting your order in person.
How secure are my payment details? We use the paypal payment system so we will not need to see your card details.
What about my other personal information, will these be shared? Personal details that you provide us with such as your name, address, phone number and e-mail address will not be shared with any other parties. We will use the information you provide us with, solely to conduct our direct business with you. Please see our privacy policy for further info.
Where can you deliver to? We can deliver to UK mainland customers only. Delivery outside UK mainland is not offered on this site but could be arranged. Please call 01243 372374 for a quote.
What are the delivery charges? We have five options for delivery as follows;
1 Standard Delivery (Orders under £15) Delivery Charge £4.00
2 Standard Delivery (Orders over £15) Delivery Charge £6.50
3 Express Delivery Delivery Charge £10.50

Can you deliver locally to other PO postcodes? Yes we can but there would be a charge for this. Please call us for a quote.
What if my goods are damaged? When your goods are delivered, please inspect them and inform us immediatly of any damaged or missing items within 7 working days of delivery. Call us on 01243 372374 or e-mail sales@hawthornshop.co.uk
What if my goods are faulty? If your goods develop a fault with two weeks of receipt of the goods usually refund or exchange the item provided it is in good (as new) condition. This does not apply to faults that have been caused by misuse, accident or general neglect. All manufacturers instructions and recommendations should have been followed.
What should I do if I have a problem with my purchased goods? We recommend in the first instance that you carefully read the manufacturers literature. Our experience is that many problems are solved in this manner.
What if I have a complaint? Should you ever have cause to complain we will respond to your complaint within one week of it being made.
None of the above affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
What about my old waste electrical equipment?
All new electrical goods should now be marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol and should be disposed of separately from normal household waste so that they can be recycled.
The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive is now UK law. This legislation aims to make producers of electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) pay for the collection, treatment and recovery of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). These regulations mean that suppliers of this EEE like high street shops and internet retailers must allow consumers to return their waste equipment free of charge. We will accept a WEEE item and prevent it from going into landfill by safely disposing of it, however customers must return their like for like WEEE item to us within 28 days of purchasing a new item of EEE from us.
When is the latest date I can order goods for delivery in time for Christmas? We will continue to accept orders on our website right through the Christmas and New Year period. If you order goods after 14th December and you want your goods delivered before Christmas then you will have to make sure you select Express Delivery when checking out. Last orders for delivery before Christmas using Express Delivery will be Monday 21st December. Due to high demand for Roberts Radio's and limited stocks we are unable to guarantee delivery before Christmas of some Roberts Radios ordered after the 14th December. | We aim to deliver a speedy and efficient service.
If you place an order before 2pm Monday to Friday then we will do our very best to pick, pack and despatch your order the same day. Often our deliveries arrive the day after we despatch them.
This does not apply to some special order products and some Roberts Radios which can take over a week to arrive. |
