*Please Note, these lamps are supplied by the major door bell manufacturer Friedland and they package them as 8v because that is the voltage that their door bells and associated pushes and transformers are designed to operate on. These lamps are actually stamped as 16v however the fact that the actual rating stamped on the lamp is 16v has no effect upon them operating in the Friedland equipment they were intended for other than their brightness. What we mean by this is that if you were using the lamps for a purpose other than a Friedland bell push then they would be much brighter if you were to connect them to a 16 volt power source.
